COVID19 & Your Dental Visit
At Stony Plain Dental Centre we have made changes & added to our protocols in the clinic to keep you & your family safe. The pandemic has effected many aspects of our lives, but it has not effected the level of care you receive while in our clinic.
Prior to your appointment
We have made all forms electronic, meaning you can fill them out online & email them back prior to your appointment. This helps to minimize unnecessary contact while you are with us. You will receive an email with your forms, alternatively you can access these forms on our website. Please review, fill out & email these forms prior to your appointment.

Inside the Clinic
The office looks a bit different inside. All surfaces in the front reception area are wipeable. This means we have removed books, magazines, comfort menus, and items in the refreshment centre. Refreshments are still available if needed, please ask a front desk receptionist for a juice, water, or granola bar. The Kids' Zone is largely dissembled for now, but the TV is still ready for you.
When you walk through the doors we will be ready for you with hand sanitizer, a contactless thermometer & a mask. If you have not already filled out a COVID19 consent form this will also be given to you at this time.
The clinic now follows a unidirectional flow (one way). You will be guided from entry to exit of the clinic (back). The single direction flow helps to reduce unnecessary contact between patients & between patient & staff members.
In your Dental Suite
At the start of your appointment you will be given a peroxide rinse to use before treatment begins. The video mentioned above shows the additional gear your dentist, dental assistant & hygienist may be wearing. They also follow strict protocols for disinfecting and sanitizing both the dental suite & the items or tools you may be in contact with. All items, tools & gear is appropriately used and cleaned according to guidelines laid out by the Alberta Dental Association and College. The sanitizing and disinfecting solution & practices, which were already in place prior to the pandemic, are effective at eradicating coronavirus from surfaces & tools.
